Applying for PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT 2018
What are the requirements?
1) Original and photocopy of
valid Philippine Driving License
2) Two pieces 2”x2” color ID picture, white background
3) Foreign nationals, dual citizens must present the original passport, photocopies of pages showing date of last arrival. Permanent residents on the other hand, must present passport and Alien Certificate Registration along with requirements no. 1, 2 and 3.
4) In case of non-appearance, a letter of authorization and any valid ID of representative.
5) Processing fee Php 3,920 (1 year) , Php 8,960 (3 years)

* OFWs presenting valid OFW ID and
official receipt from POEA which includes OWWA membership fee or Overseas
Employment Certificate (OEC) are entitled to 20% discount on membership.
How long are the applications?
If you apply for IDP at the AAP main office at
2nd floor, AAP Tower, 683 Aurora Boulevard, Quezon City, actual processing time
is about an hour.
PIDP applications coursed through our Makati, Alabang, Pampanga, Lipa offices take 2 to 3 working days to process; while through Cebu and Davao offices take 4 to 5 days.

Tip:
1. Only those who have non-professional or
professional licenses are eligible to apply for IDP. Student permit not
allowed.
2. On December Japan did not allowed to use
PIDP because AAP has not been informed until recently that Japan is not a
signatory to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic.
3. For ABSENTEE
applicants, provide an authorization letter to your representative with a
valid ID. This also applies to applications for renewal of the PIDP. With
same process on Number 4.
4. To
avoid queuing at the offices, you may submit an ONLINE
APPLICATION FORM and a scanned copy of your driver’s license ahead of time.
5. For
renewals , if the local license (card-type) which you presented the
last time you applied for PIDP is still valid, there is no need to present the
original; one photocopy will do.
6. Foreign
nationals and dual citizens must present their
original passport and photocopies of the pages showing date of last arrival in
the Philippines. For permanent residents, please present your passport and your
Alien Certificate Registration along with all the requirements.
7. For online application, there is a drop
down where you can select Quezon City (Main), Makati , Alabang, Pampanga, Lipa,
Cebu, and Davao Offices to pocess your IDP.
After clicking the submit button a reference number will show, you can use the REFERENCE number when paying and inquiring about the status of your online application in any AAP office.
