Bangkok Trip 2017

I got a super deal from Get-go Cebu-pacific. Last March 14, 2017 they decided to SALE on points.

Round-trip ticket for  Ninoy Aquino International Airport - Suvarnabhumi International Airport

I have bought my roundtrip ticket for 40 points and paid only the taxes and surcharges amounting to PHP2kplus. Not bad right?

Since I will be travelling solo (First time for pleasure) I have read anything everything that I will be doing to Bangkok.  Prior to this I have trip to El Nido, So I ended up not prepared HAHA!

I got 6 months, my trip was recently September 2017. Since I do not read, what's currently happening on that country. (shame on me)  I did not know that they are still mourning for their KING (My sincere sympathy). The government declared a year-long mourning period. I also read after a brief return to monochrome for the King's 1st death anniversary on 13 October 2017, colour television broadcasts, with the same restrictions are before, resumed on 19 October 2017.

Back to my trip.

Since I am a Filipino, I don't need a visa to enter Thailand.

Citizens of the Philippines are permitted to stay in Thailand up to 30 days if entering via international airport and up to 15 days if entering through a land border checkpoint from a neighboring country (Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia) under the Visa Exemption Rule.
for more information check out here http://bangkokpe.dfa.gov.ph/visa

Please pay Travel Tax - Php 1,620 (and to avoid going in and back in  for your check in,  have it pay before lining up to the check in counter) and its much easier if its exact amount.

Have also your breakfast at home or in airport before going in at the immigration, as the prices in food really MATTERS :)

Day 1 - Wat Pho and Wat Arun
I have arrived 8:20am
I got a nice deal also from KLOOK for pocket wifi to be pick up at the airport. Please be reminded that their is security deposit of 2000baht. In my case I have used my credit card and it would be return after three banking days upon also returning the WIFI. you may check it here https://www.klook.com/invite/273HN?c=PHP

I have booked my hostel at khao San road as I was fancy and curios as they say this is pack with backpackers or solo traveler.

There is a airport bus that goes straight to Khao San Road, just go out to gate 7 and there is signage tarpaulin.  Don't pay first, there is an assistant that will ask you for the payment , just like in Manila. May konduktor.

The airport bus drop off is near to my hostel , thanks to my bff (google map) I have able to find it smoothly

I have booked my hostel in Bed Box Khao San thru Agoda, as I have read positive feedback from fellow Filipino. You know how Filipino make critics haha. and of course I also wanted to earn getgo points.

Grand Palace is closed by that time,

So I plan to go to Wat Arun and Wat Pho.

From my hostel I have booked Uber Car to Wat Pho. My driver told me that Uber is illegal in bangkok so he is dropping me off 100 meters to Wat Pho. Im still not sure up today if its true.

Since I be doing Temple visiting please lets us all be mindful in what we wear.  though there are several Sarong or cloth that you may wrapped around for a minimal amount that for rent. Lets respect the temple.

across Wat Pho is Wat Arun, you just need to ride Ferry. for your return just need to go back where you been drop off. I got confused as there as some ferry terminal, all you need is to take a picture so you remember haha.

Its been a long day and I wanna try tuktuk, so my mistake is I thought tuktuk has meters! fooled!
I hop on. I said meter on. After arriving at hostel and difficulty of explaining where my hostel is even I showed the address. I have a back up my google map and directing him left and right. upon arriving I was asked for 250baht , No No No , I said first thing . Oh my scam, you scam me. I explained to him my uber is 60baht , and will not pay that. we both agreed for 90baht.  at least he got away by 30 baht. Learn from my mistake please T___T

Tips: if you wanted to buy those long pants  that is almost everywhere in Bangkok, but it in along the pier going to Wat Arun, it is only 100baht . Other places will charge you 120baht-450baht. Trust me on this, HAHA. As I wish I have buy it there.

Day 2 - Ayutthaya (Old City)
I have book in my hostel, I'm tired of yesterday and feels like economical since I have limited funds and its not good way if I get lost. Whole day tour is 600baht. I was eyeing before in https://www.click2gothailand.com/tours
for my trip but it was 850baht and hard time paying in since I don't want to use my credit card. I was pick up in my hostel and they will drop you off along khao san road also.
Tour includes:

Visit Wat Phu Khao Thong, climb on to the famous 50 meter high Chedi to see surrounding rice field and the town of Ayutthaya.
Then visit Wat Lokaya Sutha, pray to the 42 meter long reclining Buddha.
Next is Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, built by King U-Thong in 1357 AD. This is one of the oldest and most important temple of Ayutthaya.
Before lunch, we visited Wat Mahathat which is renowned for the Buddha head in tree roots.
Visit Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, which was the holiest temple located on the site of the old Royal Place of Ayutthaya

My only shell out money here for entire trip  is bottled water for 10baht.

Tips - As the sun is really scorching hot Bring changed clothes, face towel, sun block, chips for the trip, full charge your power bank.

Same weather in Manila. But we don't go out at 12PM where the sun is really striking at you haha..

Optional: Elephant ride (I did not ride) - 200 baht

Day 3 - Floating Market, Train Market, Terminal 21, and MBK centre.

Another day, you will really feel your feet will be swollen but don't worry there are lots of massage enter in the area.  I did mine yesterday for 150baht half hour foot massage.

And I booked half day tour 450baht for floating market and train Market.
Tour includes:

Train Market (The Folding Umbrella Market). Probably the most exciting fresh market in the world as trains will run through the center of the market 8 times a day.

Then headed for Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.  ride on the long tail boat to the
main part of the market (free includes in Tour).

Walk around the market to see local handcrafts products, or ride on a paddle boat (Pay extra 150 THB)

I did the paddle boat because i was fascinated on the slow moving rather than the fast one which is include in our tour.  And everyone is trying it out haha.

Tips: Learn to haggle in floating market, everything they sell has times 4 of the price, i believe.  They sell the long pants which I told you earlier for 350baht. But this place is more cheaper in Mall areas. But again haggle haggle if they dont give you the price learn to walk away.

On the train market, buy your fruits so you can eat something on your way.

I also buy chili garlic which is incredibly spicy. I did not expect this for a 10 baht. a real yum in my siomai. ahaha.

and were back after lunch at the hostel.  I did a quick lunch at Soi Rambuttri just very near at hostel. Also haven street for food.

Checking out to Bed Box Khao san . I plan to meet a friend near Terminal 21 mall.

So I booked my next hostel thru Agoda again.

DengBa Hostel is the best deal for only 200 baht near to Terminal 21 and train Station.  No breakfast.
Run by Chinese people and there all kind.

I have booked grabwin from Grab (habal-habal)  from Bed Box to DengBA cost me around 98baht.

Owww they did not give helmet. So I give him 1 star. ;( I did not bother to ask.

I literally go around terminal 21, and find it still pricey so I took and train and transfer to MBK centre, which is more cheaper than what has to offer in Terminal 21. Terminal 21 is more of like Glorieta in Makati , while MBK Centre is more like Market Market Mall of Taguig.

and this time I'm so tired of walking , so I booked Grabwin (habal Habal) MBK centre to Dengba Hostel - 76baht

Caution on booking for Grabwin, Be sure not to book on the mall, go walk a little and find landmark that has one entrance, as you cannot communicate to him that you are back of hotel or something. Just stick to your location and wait, even if he missed the road, he will definitely followed the map pin point.

I check out to hostel dengba 5am , as the train also is 5am open.  My flight is 9:30am.

and money left on me is 250 baht, which I still need to take my breakfast :)

From hostel I walked towards train, before that It rain hard. I Prayed it will stop in the morning, and yes it was. The road has been flooded.  I cant remember exact amount but I pay around less 100 baht for the Train. And I was playing on the token for the last train and notice I left in in the train. I need to pay again 45baht :(

Arriving at airport there is huge line for checking at Cebu Pac, luckily I did web check in, and there is another counter for it solely. I was first in line :) good vibes coming.

After securing the immigration,

With my money 100 baht and some coins. I was able to full my self for the cheapest I can buy in the food area.

I bought Auntie Ann original for 45 baht and dairy queen ice cream for 65baht. Sawsaw sa tinapay bes, and around the gate there is drinking water and I was solved. :)

to fix my coffee after boarding at the plane , I order for a coffee at CEBU PAC
